While it is easy to find a delightful coffee and croissant at any cafe in Florence, it is challenging to locate a study-friendly cafe with Wi-Fi. When you do find such a spot, remember to order regularly if you plan to stay for extended periods.
Occupying a table without contributing prevents others from enjoying the cafe and inhibits business. During the weekends in Florence, cafes are typically bustling with activity, making them less conducive to study sessions. During these peak times, cafe staff may request that you refrain from using your laptop to accommodate dining guests. To avoid these issues, you should try to complete your homework during the week if your apartment isn’t suited for studying.
La Loggia Degli Albizi
La Loggia Degli Albizi stands out as an exceptional cafe for those seeking a tranquil spot to study for hours, complete with complimentary Wi-Fi. This cafe is an ideal sit-down experience, offering a welcoming atmosphere where you can focus on your work without feeling out of place. The staff at La Loggia Degli Albizi are remarkably friendly and accommodating, consistently providing warm and attentive service that makes every customer feel cherished.
Beyond its study environment, the cafe boasts a delightful selection of delicious treats, from freshly baked cornetti and other exquisite pastries to more substantial dine-in options for a comforting, home-cooked meal later in the day. Additionally, their fresh-squeezed orange juice is a must-try, serving as the perfect refreshing boost to rejuvenate your spirits during a busy day.

Biblioteca delle Oblate
Biblioteca delle Oblate offers much more than a traditional library experience; it serves as a dynamic space where education meets leisure. This library has the stunning backdrop of the iconic Duomo so you can study with a view. This venue is a haven for prolonged study sessions with multiple floors and versatile indoor and outdoor study areas—perfect for any weather. It also has a cafe that caters to more spontaneous needs, including a selection of alcoholic beverages.
What sets Biblioteca delle Oblate apart is its dual role as both a scholarly retreat and a vibrant social hub. It’s a popular spot for Italians to unwind after a day’s work. While the interior maintains the quiet expected of a traditional library, the exterior transforms into a lively, social environment as the evening approaches. This unique combination makes Biblioteca delle Oblate not only a place for academic pursuits but also a key social venue in the heart of Florence.

Goretta
Goretta is a charming café conveniently located on San Gallo Street, just a minute walk from multiple SRISA Campuses. This spot not only offers Wi-Fi but also a cozy area that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor areas. While it may not provide the most picturesque views, its proximity to Cavour and San Gallo campuses makes it an ideal spot for students and faculty looking to squeeze in some work or grab a quick bite between classes. The cafe is particularly renowned for its pastries, which come highly recommended.
Although I usually visit later in the day and miss out on these freshly baked treats, the consensus is that they are absolutely delectable.

Caffe Letterario Le Murate
Caffe Letterario Le Murate is situated just a few steps from Sant’Ambrogio Market and is full of the rich history of the area. The courtyard—once a convent turned prison turned hipster bar—has been transformed into a charming study spot featuring both a cafe and bar. Inside, several tables offer cozy seating. As the weather warms up, additional tables are set outside, allowing guests to bask in the warm sun. In the evenings, the cafe offers a buffet, food service, and occasionally live music. While I have yet to try the food myself, many patrons rave about the buffet. This unique venue blends historical intrigue with modern amenities, making it a local favorite.
