This past weekend, VCU summer fashion students and their professor Karen Videtic, attended Pitti Immagine’s ModaPrima fair in Florence. The students are at SRISA studying Fashion Branding and Italian Design with Professor Videtic. ModaPrima was held in one of the most striking locations in Florence, the Stazione Leopolda; the historical, nineteenth century railway station that in recent years has become one of the key venues for important contemporary exhibitions and fashion events.
The fair, featuring ready-to-wear clothing and accessories for men and women for spring/summer 2015, had a special focus on best-sellers for the 2014-15 fall/winter season. It focuses on medium and large scale retailers and showcased more than 150 collections by some of the best Italian names specializing in this segment.
Modaprima welcomed a total of 1,700 buyers, with over 800 coming from 50 different countries (led by Japan, followed by Portugal, Russia, Spain, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Greece, France, Ireland, Denmark, the United States, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ukraine, Austria, Switzerland and Great Britain).
